Joe McKinley
Joe McKinley · Managing Partner, Wealth Advisor

Money is a path to freedom. My job is to provide the options and scenarios that get you there.

His story

Why I do this work.

I grew up in this business. In May 2026 I started Anchored Wealth Advisors as an independent firm. What made it mean something was watching clients and colleagues choose to come along. People trusted their futures and their careers to a firm that was a week old. I still think about that. It is the standard I hold this firm to every day.

The honest reason I do this work is the relationships. I get to choose who I work with and who we serve, and I get to build lasting relationships on both sides of the table. What we do has a real impact on people's lives. Watching a family's financial situation grow more secure year after year does not get old.

Independence matters because of what it lets us do for you. There is no product of the month here and no ceiling on how good we are allowed to get. When we find a better tool, a better strategy, or a better partner, we move. Good ideas rise to the top and execution follows fast. Our progress is measured in weeks, not quarters, and our clients get the benefit of every improvement.

How Joe works

Across the table.

Ask longtime clients about Joe and the same words come back: honest, direct, easy to talk to, and easy to reach. First conversations are unhurried and most of the hour is him listening. He provides advice and options, explained in plain English, and the decision always stays yours.

He is also willing to be the contrarian in the room. On the psychology of actually spending and enjoying money. On what the next generation is walking into. On where the economy really stands versus the headlines. He does not pretend to know more than he does, and he will do the research when he does not. What you get is a straight read, unique and actionable ideas, and no pressure at any point.

Beyond the office

When he is not working.

Weekends are for his wife and daughters, and for water: the ocean when possible, the pool when not. There is a German shepherd. There are good movies and better series. There is a neighborhood community he and his family are genuinely rooted in. And there is a growing corner of the practice built around boats and the people who love them, which started with one client's idea and became a specialty.
